Eagerly Waiting // Hebrews 9:28

I cannot help but think about Christmas when I crossed this passage. It made me remember being a kid and being SO excited for the presents from my mom. The coming gift that I KNEW was coming the next morning. I would be SO excited that sometimes I wouldn’t be able to sleep! I was so eager to wake up, sprint to the living room, with the full expectation that the gifts my mom would get for me would be there. I didn’t sit and question if the gifts would be under the tree. I didn’t question what would happen if I woke up and there were no gifts… I simply trusted in my mom’s love for me and the promises that she gave me for Christmas morning…

As believers, we should have this same child-like expectation about the gift God has promised us. We should be so eager and excited that it’s hard for us to not be joyful! We should be so filled with joy about what’s the come that it is impossible for us to be upset or worried about what’s to come. As a child, I never questioned my mom. I just trusted. Sadly, as a believer, I would have to humbly admit that sometimes I do question God. In times of serious confusion, I allow my fleshly mind to overcome the word of God. It’s easy to say that we truly trust that Jesus is coming, but do we truly live like Jesus is coming? At times, I don’t. Sometimes I am so wrapped up in the “worries” of life that I forget about the coming gift that is promised to me and us all.

Let’s have that child-like faith and joy for the gift that is to come from our Father in heaven. He loves us, He loves you & He is a good-good Father. The word clearly says, “So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.” Matthew 7:11 (NLT). We have no reason to doubt of the good gifts coming from our Father… let’s bring back the simplicity of the Gospel and the gifts that our Father has for us through Jesus Christ…

Today’s meditation verse: Proverbs 8:17 “I love all who love me. Those who search will surely find me.

Love wins… Grace wins… Just be.
