#VOD: John 3:21

“But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” (John 3:21 NLT)

This morning I spent a lot of time praying & studying this verse. At first glance, it’s easy to think that this verse is referring to salvation, but once I dug a bit deeper I realized that this verse was not referring to those who do not believe. This verse is for those who earnestly desire to live by the truth.

I am a firm believer that we should all thrive to come into the light of Jesus at every moment of every day. This verse as a whole and its surrounding context still cause me a bit of confusion even after study. I know there is SO much more to this verse than what I have been able to get from it and I am thankful for that. We should all have an earnest desire to know and live out the truth. Does this mean we are perfect and that we will never make mistakes, heck no. What this does mean is that we should be constantly seeking to live out the truth by coming to Jesus our light.

It is no surprise that many people who do not actively seek after God’s truth by living them out, do everything they can to hide behind stuff. Whether that be cars, money, power, position, and even religion. Yes, even religion. Just because you attend church on Sunday, give a comfortable tithe, shoot even read your word on your own does not mean that you are living the truth and coming into the Light of Jesus.

The main point for this devotional today is to really sit down and ask yourself if you are living the truth and being in the light…

Love wins fam…Grace wins…
