#VOD: Hebrews 13:5

“I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

Truth is… I read this verse and have a hard time comprehending it. I have a hard time comprehending the concept of never being abandoned or failed. Not because of anything God has done, but because of what people have done

Are there areas of your life where you have projected what people have done on God? Like who God is based on who others have been? Maybe someone has betrayed you, so you are fraud God will “betray” you… Maybe you have relied on someone’s help, and they failed you so you think God will fail you. Whatever it looks like for you and your personal experience with those you love just know that God is nothing like that

His word makes it clear that God is faithful and will come through. All of His promises have been fulfilled. The audience that the author of Hebrews is speaking to was going through the worse of the worse. They were being killed, shamed, and abandoned for the name of Jesus, but God was faithful. God is faithful & just to follow through with His promises. This verse is a promise…

So next time you start to wonder if you are alone, you aren’t.
The next time you start to feel like God has failed you, He hasn’t.
Yes, life sucks at times and it feels like the trials will never end, BUT God is there.

We must learn to declare the very basic truths in our day to day lives when things start to get rough. Because regardless of how we feel, the truth is still the truth…

Love wins fam… Grace wins…
