#VOD: 2 Timothy 1:7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is by far one of my favorite verses… There is SO much that we can take away from this one verse, so much that can be applied to our daily life.

One of the first things that always come to my mind is that the spirit we have is a GIFT from God. Freely given. It’s not something we have or even can earn. It is something that God has blessed us with so that we can walk through this life with power, love & self-discipline. If we do not have these things, we can rely on the spirit to help us…

On our own we cannot live these three things out on a consistent basis. Without the spirit it is impossible to walk in true power, it is impossible to extend unconditional love & it is impossible to have complete self-discipline. I get and totally agree with being able to walk these aspects out to an extent, but not to the full-ness that God intends for us.

We are limited in our power. We are limited on the love we can extend. We are limited on the amount of self-control we have. YES, there are areas, people & things that we can have “power” in, that we can “love” & that we can have “self-discipline” in… BUT there is a limit to it. Human limits that do not make sense….

Each and everyday we can live our lives with minimal impact and change for those around us, and for ourselves. We have the option to fully embody the spirit that God has given us and make a life long impact on those around us. We have the option to leave a mark on someone’s heart that they will be blessed by for many years to come. We have the ability to offer a love outside of ourself…

Love wins fam…. Grace wins…
