Yesterday was filled with good vibes & awesome community. Every Tuesday I go to a bible study/community group and it is so very rewarding. We briefly touched on the topic of “fake it until you make it” within the Church.
One of the interesting responses is that at times it may seem like you are faking it, but in reality you are just focusing on the bigger thing God has in front of you.
For example, if someone is a worship leader they are required to lead worship regardless of the stress or worries going on outside of the Church. They have to make it a point to focus on worshipping with a pure heart & faithfully lead the rest into that moment.
If they get up and put on a smiling face, it does not automatically imply they are “faking it” (although I know it happens), but instead I’d like to submit to you all a new way of seeing it.
Sometimes it’s a choice. Today’s verse simply says it’s the day the Lord has made. That we WILL rejoice & be glad.
Yes, we all have problems and sometimes days just suck. But we don’t have to fake like everything is okay. Instead, we must learn to live with intention each & everyday.
No where in the Bible does it say each day is going to be incredible (in our eyes), but the Bible does make it very clear that God is in control.
So at the end of it all, we don’t have to “fake it” everyday. We can have genuine joy even in the midst of trials. James talks all about that, but I’ll save that for another post…
Today, choose to be glad & rejoice because we know this day is God’s.
